Waterways is currently on hold as we complete renovations on it's home at 1288 15th Ave.
Waterways is a live mix series featuring music of many genres and field recordings of many sources. The event encourages full presence with music.
It is structured such that you are taken on a journey through space, through time, and through yourself. It is an opportunity to sit, alone and open, carried into to whatever experience arises (beauty, sadness, elation, respite, calmness, etc).

Waterways 9 represents a time of more exploration, less preparation. There were many more accidents, and the flow of each mix was less clear--I remember being tempted to explore a lot within each mix, ultimately making them feel disjointed.

This was the first official waterways after several public and private test sessions. Music spanned a wide range of genres, from experimental electronic and trip-hop to soul and hip-hop. Of all the mixes to date, this one had some of the most intense moments and extreme contrast.

Details
The Event
Waterways is a live mix series with music spanning many genres. The event encourages full presence with music. You will be taken on a journey through space, through time, and through yourself. It is an opportunity to sit, alone and open, carried into to whatever experience arises (beauty, sadness, elation, respite, calmness etc).
On the night of the event, you will be guided into comfort with tea or water, then guided to a place to sit, then requested to calm your nerves and listen. The mix will last about one and a half hours, spanning genres and sources, featuring both music and field recordings from around the world, with sounds from nature and various other sources.
Be prepared to exercise mindfullness. No talking. Whisper in ears if communication is absolutely necessary.
